The route

The German Moselle from Perl, where France, Luxembourg and Germany meet, down to the Rhine at Koblenz: about 250 km by Trier, Bernkastel-Kues, Traben-Trarbach and Cochem, beneath some of Europe's steepest vineyards. The path keeps to the river all the way, changing banks at bridges and ferries, so it runs gently downhill with almost no climbing.

Stages

A suggested split into 4 days of about 62 km (39 mi). Each day ends at the town or village on the way nearest to an equal share of the distance, or at a hotel or hostel where there is none. These are not the official stages: check where you can stay before you book.
