Check the current official route before a long trip: diversions and permitted paths change. Where the mapping has gaps (3 km), the line is drawn by our router along mapped paths: check those stretches against the waymarks. See the source.

The trail

The Camí de Ronda is the old coastal patrol path of the Costa Brava, and it is not one signed trail: the long-distance GR 92 (the Sender de la Mediterrània of the Catalan mountaineering federation, FEEC) follows it where it exists and goes inland where it does not. This route runs from Portbou on the French border to Blanes along the Camí de Ronda as OpenStreetMap maps it, 217 km. The federation's GR 92 stages for the same coast, 11 stages from Portbou to Lloret de Mar (about 204 km) and a few kilometres more to Blanes, give the stage list here. The coast path is interrupted in places by private land and works, so the line leaves the shore at times; expect steps, rocky ground and stretches of road and town streets, and check the federation's stage pages before you go.

Stages

A suggested split into 12 days of about 18.0 km (11.2 mi). Each day ends at the town or village on the way nearest to an equal share of the distance, or at a hotel or hostel where there is none. These are not the official stages: check where you can stay before you book.

Paths change, and the weather decides the day. The line comes from the source named under the map and the heights from a terrain model, so treat the figures as a guide. Check for diversions before you go, take a map, check the forecast, and turn back if it isn't right.
