The walk
The walk starts at the car park at Wiseman's Bridge, a village by the beach, with a pub, on the Carmarthen Bay coast. The Coast Path follows the old colliery railway south-west along the shore, and the old railway tunnels are part of the path, to Coppet Hall and on into Saundersfoot, whose harbour was built to ship anthracite. From the harbour the route goes up the footpath called the Incline, west of the town, and comes back the same way.
It is 6 km with 44 m of ascent; allow about 1½ hours. The grade is Easy.
The path is level or gently graded and the walk is a short one. Between Coppet Hall and the harbour the Park gives an alternative route along the beach at low tide; this walk keeps to the path. Take care near the road in Saundersfoot. At Amroth, further east, the Coast Path is closed after a landslide: this walk does not go there.
The Wiseman's Bridge car park is marked free in OpenStreetMap, with opening hours of sunrise to sunset. Coppet Hall and Saundersfoot have car parks that charge, according to OpenStreetMap. The National Park lists a bus service to Saundersfoot and a railway station about 1 mile north of the village.
