The walk

The walk starts at the National Park car park in Moylgrove (Trewyddel), a village in the wooded valley of Cwm Trewyddel. Lanes and paths lead down the valley to Ceibwr Bay, a small cove with a stony beach where grey seals can often be seen. The Coast Path climbs the cliff beside the bay and runs along the top, past jagged rocks, ledges and caves, to Pwll y Wrach, the Witches' Cauldron, a sea cave whose roof has fallen in to leave a blowhole; an Iron Age hill fort, Castell Treriffith, stands close by. The way goes back along the cliff to the bay and up the valley to the village.

It is 6.1 km with 154 m of ascent; allow about 2 hours. The grade is Moderate: the National Park rates the walk Moderate, with a steep section at the Witches' Cauldron.

The cliff top is exposed: stay on the path and away from the edge, above all in wind or wet. The way down to the Witches' Cauldron is steep. There are fields with livestock, so keep dogs under close control, and about a third of the walk, some 2 km, is on minor roads.

In season the Poppit Rocket bus (405) can be flagged down on the road: the National Park lists it for this walk.
