The walk
The walk starts at the top station of the Nevis Range gondola, 650 m up the north side of Aonach Mòr, so it needs the gondola to be running. The base station and car park are at about 100 m above Torlundy; walking up would add some 550 m of climbing, which this route does not cover.
A path leads from the station to the viewpoint on Sgùrr Finnisg-aig, 663 m, and returns the same way. A track then runs south-west from the station and a path crosses the hillside to the viewpoint at Meall Beag, with the same way back to the station.
It is 4.1 km with 113 m of ascent; allow about 1¼ hours, longer for the views (Nevis Range puts the Sgùrr Finnisg-aig half at about 45 minutes return and the Meall Beag half at about an hour). The grade is Easy: good paths and tracks, but high up and open to the weather.
The gondola takes 12 to 15 minutes each way. Parking at the base station is charged (the Nevis Range website gives £5 a day), and dogs are allowed on the gondola and the walks on a lead.
