The walk

From Käsmu cemetery and chapel, follow RMK's marked nature and culture trail clockwise through the village and into the forest, by the Matsikivi and Vana-Jüri boulders and the boulder field in the pines, and return along the village road. Information boards on the way tell how the smallest peninsula of the national park was formed and about the village.

It is 4.3 km round with 10 m of climb; allow about 1 hour. The grade is Easy: forest path, track and quiet village road. RMK gives 4.2 km.

Lahemaa is a national park with visiting rules: keep to the marked trail. RMK also asks walkers to follow its hygiene guidance because of African swine fever in wild boar.

The trail starts at the chapel; RMK says there is parking at the chapel and at the end of the village, though no car park is mapped at the chapel in OpenStreetMap. There is a dry toilet and a waste bin at the start. There is no railway station nearby.
