The walk
From the Flims Waldhaus, Caumasee bus stop, tracks lead through the Flimser Wald to Conn and, a few minutes beyond, the Il Spir viewing platform, designed by Corinna Menn and opened in 2006, with a 180-degree view over the Ruinaulta, the Rhine gorge. The way back runs by the Caumasee, the lake, to the bus stop; parts of it share the tracks of the way out.
It is 6.9 km round with 213 m of ascent; allow about 2¼ hours. Flims Laax Falera's circuit page on Graubünden's tourist board site gives its Caumasee circuit by Conn as 8 km, 2 h 20 and 225 m of ascent, easy; ours is 14% shorter. Flims Laax Falera gives Flims Waldhaus to Conn as about an hour for 3.2 km, and the way back by the Caumasee as 2.5 km in about 40 minutes. The grade is Easy.
Flims Laax Falera says the Connbächli path to Conn can be walked from May to October, depending on snow. Read on 11 October 2026, its page says that entry to the Caumasee is now free and that the bathing season has ended, so there is no lifeguard; the Terrassa La Cauma is open daily until 18 October, weather permitting, and the lake's lift runs during the opening hours of its restaurants. It forbids grills, fires and drones on the whole Caumasee area and keeps dogs out of the lake's bathing area. Flims Laax Falera's circuit page says the Restaurant Conn is closed in the intermediate season.
The tourist board's pages say there are paid car parks at Flims Waldhaus and give no prices, and that the bus runs from Chur by PostAuto; look up the timetable.
