The walk

From Tällberg station the way goes through the village on village roads, then onto paths into the Nybodalen nature reserve. The reserve was once fields and pastures and has grown into leafy forest; Leksands kommun's page says that on a spring morning there can be hepaticas (blåsippor) on the ground and many singing birds. The path continues west to Digerberget, a small hill with a bare rock top, where the municipality's page gives a view toward Siljan and the island of Vaverön. The map shows a viewpoint, a shelter, a picnic site and a barbecue place at the top. Return the same way.

It is 4.4 km there and back with 73 m of ascent; allow about 1½ hours, with about 0.9 km at each end on village roads. Leksands kommun's page gives a 2.4 km round through the two reserves, Digerberget and Nybodalen, and does not say where it starts; ours is longer because it starts at the station and returns the way it came. The grade is Easy: gentle paths and village roads, with only a little climbing at the end.

Digerberget and Nybodalen are two small nature reserves that Leksands kommun manages. The county board's page for each names the municipality as manager and points to Naturvårdsverket's Skyddad natur for the reserve's decision and rules; it lists none itself, and it showed no news when it was read on 11 October 2026. Both reserve decisions (Leksands kommun, 1998, on Skyddad natur) forbid making a fire anywhere but at a place provided, and Nybodalen's 1998 management plan lists fences for grazing animals in the reserve, built of electric wire.

Tällberg has a railway stop, and a car park is mapped by the station and another by the Nybodalen entrance board; no timetable, charge or opening hour was read for this walk.
