The walk

From the harbour car park in Sennen Cove the walk climbs onto the coast path past the old coastguard lookout on Mayon Cliff. It follows the granite clifftops south past Maen Castle, an Iron Age cliff castle, and Dr Syntax's Head to Land's End. The way back runs inland on the Cornish Way, a bridleway across the fields, to the top of the village and down to the harbour.

It is 4.6 km with 96 m of ascent; allow about 1½ hours. The grade is Easy. There is one long climb out of Sennen.

The clifftops have unfenced drops. In spring the cliffs are busy with nesting seabirds: fulmar, kittiwake and guillemot. The path between Sennen and Land's End is heavily used and has been repaired for erosion; keep to it.

Sennen's car parks are privately run and charge a fee; the Land's End car park belongs to the attraction there. There is no station near; the nearest is Penzance, about 13 km away.
