The trail
The Arctic Circle Trail crosses the tundra of Greenland's west coast from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut, in eight to ten days, with huts at Hundesø, Katiffik, the Canoe Centre, Ikkattooq, Eqalugaarniarfik, Innajuattoq, Nerumaq and Kangerluarsuk Tulleq and no villages between. The trail's site adds up its sections to about 170 km; the line here, from OpenStreetMap, measures 162 km. A suggested split into 8 days of about 20 km (13 mi). Each day ends at the town or village on the way nearest to an equal share of the distance, or at a hotel or hostel where there is none. These are not the official stages: check where you can stay before you book.
