Kasprowy Wierch from Kuźnice by Myślenickie Turnie and Hala Gąsienicowa

From the bus terminus at Kuźnice, take the green path that climbs through the forest beside the cable car to its middle station at Myślenickie Turnie, then up the open slopes above the trees to the summit of Kasprowy Wierch (1,987 m), on the border with Slovakia, with its weather observatory. Go down the yellow path to Hala Gąsienicowa and the Murowaniec hostel, then take the blue path north over Przełęcz między Kopami, along Skupniów Upłaz and down through the forest over Boczań to Kuźnice.

It is 14 km with 1,002 m of ascent; allow about 7 hours. The grade is Hard: a big climb on a good path, with no chains or ladders.

The top is bare and the weather changes fast; storms are most common at midday in June and July. From late autumn to spring the paths are under snow and ice, and the park says easy summer paths then need crampons. All Tatra paths are closed from dusk to dawn between 1 March and 30 November. Dogs are not allowed.

The road to Kuźnice is closed to private cars: take a minibus from Zakopane. The park entry ticket is 11 zł.
