The walk

From the Jubilee car park the walk follows the footways of Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park through beech and pine to Kinnoull Tower, an 18th-century folly standing on the cliff edge above the River Tay. It goes on to the summit of Kinnoull Hill (222 m), with the Tay valley and Perth below, and comes back down a different path through the woods, joining the way out for the last few hundred metres to the car park.

It is 3.0 km round with 91 m of ascent; allow about 1 hour. The grade is Easy: short, on wide paths, though some of the slopes are steep.

The path near the tower runs close to a high cliff edge that the trees partly hide, so keep children and dogs close.

The Jubilee car park is run by Forestry and Land Scotland, whose visitor information for the hill says there is no charge to park in it. Perth station is about 3.2 km away.
