The walk
The walk starts from the Bwlch y Gwynt car park on the B4329, where the road crosses the Preselis at about 405 m. A path goes west to Foel Eryr, 468 m, with its Bronze Age burial cairn and a view indicator. It returns along the ridge to Foel Feddau, 467 m, which also has a cairn, and crosses the moor to Foel Cwmcerwyn, 536 m, the highest point in Pembrokeshire, topped with a trig point. The views run north to the Llŷn peninsula and west across the sea towards Ireland. The moorland paths lead back to the car park.
It is 9.3 km with 240 m of ascent; allow about 3 hours. The grade is Moderate.
This is open moorland and the path is not waymarked on the hill; much of the upland is boggy, so keep to the well-trodden paths. There are sheep and cattle, and the top is exposed to wind and often in cloud: take a map and compass.
The car park is free in OpenStreetMap. Nearest station is Clarbeston Road, 13 km away.
