The walk
The walk starts from the Fairy Pools car park on the road down into Glen Brittle. The wide path crosses the road and heads down to the Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh, crossing two footbridges over side streams, then follows the burn upstream past the clear blue pools and waterfalls towards Sgùrr an Fheadain. Beyond the pools it continues into Coire na Creiche, then turns north on a path across the lower slopes of Bruach na Frìthe to meet the path from Bealach a' Mhàim. That path leads west, beside the forest, back to the start.
It is 7.2 km with 266 m of ascent; allow about 2½ hours. The grade is Easy: clear paths with bridges near the pools, then rougher, undulating hill paths.
There are deep bogs between the path and the pools in places, and one burn to cross near the end that can be difficult in spate. The pools are very busy in summer; the loop through the corrie is much quieter. Coire na Creiche saw the last clan battle between the MacDonalds and the MacLeods.
The car park charges. There is no station on Skye.
