The walk
From the car park of Arbel National Park follow the black marks up to the Carob Lookout on the summit of Mount Arbel (הר ארבל), with the whole Sea of Galilee spread out below. Go a short way down the blue trail to the Kinneret Lookout on the eastern brow and come back up, then return down the black and turn right on the green trail, which runs along the very edge of the cliff, with the caves of the old cave fortress below, to the Mount Nitai Lookout at its western end. A paved path past some Roman sarcophagi leads back to the car park.
It is 2 km round with 20 m of ascent; allow about half an hour. The grade is Easy: short, easy paths on the open clifftop.
The green trail runs along an unfenced cliff edge: keep back from it and hold on to children. The trails that go down the cliff to the cave fortress and Wadi Hamam use handholds and cables and are not part of this walk. There is little shade, so carry water in summer.
Adults pay 31 NIS; booking a slot online is recommended, and the lookout trails take their last walkers an hour before the park closes. The park is reached from Route 77 by way of Moshav Arbel; there is no bus to the gate.
