The walk
From the lookout beside the car park on Point Wolfe Road, go down the steps and follow the path east into the ravine to Dickson Brook, which drops through cool, mossy Acadian forest just above the Bay of Fundy. Boardwalks and stairs lead downstream past small cascades to the main falls. Carry on south below the falls to the bottom of the loop, then climb back north along the west side of the valley to the car park. The loop goes clockwise.
It is 1.4 km round with 32 m of ascent; allow about half an hour. The grade is Easy: a short walk, but with many steps, and boardwalks that are slippery when wet.
Fundy charges daily admission. Parks Canada's trail report of 1 October 2026 rated the trail good, with wet and muddy sections. Keep to the boardwalks near the falls. It is the park's most popular trail. The Point Wolfe covered bridge, further along the road, is closed until December 2026, shutting the area beyond it; Dickson Falls is not affected.
The car park is free, on Point Wolfe Road about 2 km from the park headquarters at Alma. There is no public transport. An unofficial source says the road is gated near the golf course in winter, adding about 2 km of walking each way.
