The walk
Park at the Rummana Tower gate on the edge of the Dana Biosphere Reserve and take the RSCN shuttle down to Rummana Campsite, where the trail starts. Follow the path west across open ground of juniper and sandstone, then climb the rocky slopes to the summit of Jabal Al-Rummana (جبل الرمانة). From the top the land falls away to Wadi Araba and the mountains around Dana. Come down to the north and follow the track back east round the side of the mountain to the campsite.
It is 3.7 km round with 172 m of ascent; allow about 1½ hours, more to watch the birds of prey that ride the updraughts. The grade is Moderate: clear paths and tracks, with a short, rocky climb to the summit.
RSCN opens the Rummana trails from 15 March to 31 October; set off between 08:00 and 15:00 and carry plenty of water, as there is little shade. Register at the campsite reception before you go.
RSCN's 2026 rate for this trail is 10 JD for foreign visitors and 8 JD for residents, reserve entry included. It lets you walk it on your own or with one of its guides.
