The walk
From the car park in Porthcurno the walk climbs the coast path past the Minack Theatre, cut into the cliff above the bay. It drops to Porth Chapel and St Levan's holy well and follows the cliffs west to the little cove of Porthgwarra, then out to Gwennap Head, where the English Channel meets the Atlantic and the Runnel Stone reef lies offshore. The way back runs inland by Roskestal and past St Levan's church to Porthcurno.
It is 7.3 km with 268 m of ascent; allow about 2½ hours. The grade is Easy. The climb past the Minack is steep and rough.
The cliff edges are unfenced. Pedn Vounder beach below the path is tidal and reached only by a steep, rough path; the walk does not go down to it. Dogs are banned from Porthcurno beach in July and August. There is one stile with a narrow gap and a gate beside it.
The car park at Porthcurno charges a fee. There is no station near; the nearest is Penzance, about 12 km away.
