The walk

From the National Trust car park at Godrevy the walk heads out to Godrevy Point, opposite the white lighthouse on Godrevy Island. The coast path turns east above Mutton Cove, where grey seals haul out on the beach below the cliffs, and crosses the heath of Navax Point and the Knavocks. It goes on past Fishing Cove and Castle Giver Cove to Hell's Mouth, a sheer cliff gully. The way back is the same.

It is 8.6 km with 190 m of ascent; allow about 2½ hours. The grade is Easy. The path is mostly level, along the clifftops.

The cliffs are sheer and unfenced; near Godrevy Point a cleft drops some 40 m. Watch the seals from the clifftop only, quietly, and keep dogs from barking so they are not disturbed. Ponies graze the Knavocks. There are no stiles on the coast path here.

The car park is a National Trust pay car park, free to members. There is no station near; the nearest is Hayle, about 5 km away.
