The walk
From the Cobweb car park in Boscastle the walk goes down to the harbour and follows its south side out to the coastwatch lookout on Willapark. It turns inland round Forrabury Stitches, medieval strip fields still farmed today, to Forrabury church. Lanes lead through the upper village to Home Farm and Minster, where the walk drops to Minster church in its wooded combe. A path through Peter's Wood crosses the River Valency by a footbridge and follows the valley down to Boscastle.
It is 6.1 km with 237 m of ascent; allow about 2 hours. The grade is Easy. There are steps, stiles and a few short, steep climbs.
About a third is on village streets and lanes. The woodland paths are muddy when wet. Keep dogs under close control through the farmland. The rocks at the harbour end are slippery.
The Cobweb car park is run by Cornwall Council: £1.50 for an hour to £7.20 for 24 hours, free from 4pm to 9am. There is no station near; the nearest is Bodmin Parkway, about 27 km away.
