The walk
From the Katoomba Falls Reserve car park beside the Katoomba Cascades, follow the cliff track past the lookouts over Katoomba Falls and east to Echo Point, where the Three Sisters stand at the edge of the Jamison Valley. The track keeps to the cliff top past a long string of lookouts, dipping into fern gullies. It crosses the Leura Cascades below the falls and ends at Gordon Falls Lookout, a short walk from the Gordon Falls Reserve car park in Leura.
It is 6.8 km one way with 330 m of ascent and 330 m of descent; allow about 2½ hours. The grade is Easy: a good path with fenced lookouts and steps, some of them steep. The climb is our own count; the height data is noisy along cliff edges, so it may be on the high side.
Keep to the track and behind the fences: the drops are sheer. Honeymoon Bridge, off the Three Sisters track below Echo Point, is closed for rockfall, and the Lower Fern Bower track is closed for repairs until 30 October 2026; neither is on this walk. The area can close at times in poor weather or high fire danger.
Katoomba and Leura stations are each about 1.5 km from the ends of the walk, and buses stop on Cliff Drive near both ends.
