The walk
From the national park's car park at Ustrzyki Górne, with its ticket booth, follow the red path west, up through beech forest onto Połonina Caryńska. The path runs along the open, grassy ridge to Kruhly Wierch, 1,297 m, its highest point, with Połonina Wetlińska and Tarnica in view. Return the same way, or in summer go on down to Brzegi Górne and take the bus back.
It is 11.8 km there and back with 664 m of ascent; allow about 5 hours. The grade is Moderate: a steady climb through the forest, then easy walking on the ridge.
The clay path is very slippery after rain, and the ridge is exposed to wind and storms. In winter it carries deep, drifted snow. Walking is allowed only from sunrise to sunset; dogs are not allowed. Entry costs 11 zł (2026).
The park's car park costs 30 zł a day. In summer a bus links Ustrzyki Górne with Brzegi Górne and Wetlina.
