The hike

From the Windows car park a broad gravel path with steps climbs to the North Window, where you can stand in the opening. Cross to Turret Arch, a few minutes away, then come back to the viewpoint below the South Window. From there the primitive trail drops behind the fin, runs round the back of both Windows and returns across open ground to the north end of the car park.

It is 1.2 miles (2 km) around the loop with 110 feet (34 m) of climbing; allow about 35 minutes. The grade is Easy: it is short, though the primitive section is uneven, with steps up and down and few markers.

The park counts the whole loop as one mile. For the easy way, go back from the South Window by the main path. Double Arch is a short walk from the next car park. There are toilets here all year but no drinking water. No timed-entry reservation is needed in 2026, but expect a queue at the park entrance between March and October, and the car park fills in the middle of the day. A shuttle from Moab stops here until October 31, 2026. Dogs are not allowed on the trails, and climbing on the arches is forbidden. The park entrance fee is $30 a vehicle.
