The route
From the Krimml Waterfalls in the Hohe Tauern down the Salzach through the Pinzgau and Pongau, through the Pass Lueg gorge to Salzburg, then beside the Salzach and the Inn along the German border to Passau: about 310 km, losing height most of the way. It mixes riverside cycle paths with quiet roads, in seven official stages by Mittersill, Bruck, Schwarzach, Golling, Salzburg and Braunau.
