The route

The northern half of National Cycle Route 7, about 214 miles from the Clyde in Glasgow to Inverness through two national parks. It leaves the city by the Clyde and the Leven valley to Loch Lomond, crosses the Trossachs by Aberfoyle and Callander, climbs the old railway through Glen Ogle to Killin, then runs by Aberfeldy and Pitlochry over the Pass of Drumochter and through the Cairngorms by Aviemore. Much of it is on cycle paths, forest roads and old railway lines, with quiet roads between.

Roads and paths change, and surfaces vary with the weather. The line comes from the source named under the map and the heights from a terrain model, so treat the figures as a guide. Check for diversions before you go, ride to what you find, and give way to walkers and horses.
